Day 1: Kampala to Masindi – The Journey North
Morning: Depart Kampala and travel through the lush central region towards Masindi town, your gateway to the wild north.
Activities en-route:
Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary: Stop at the only place in Uganda to see rhinos in the wild. Get up close to these gentle giants and learn about the inspiring conservation story to reintroduce them.
Karuma Falls: Arrive at Karuma Falls, where the Victoria Nile surges through a dramatic, narrow gorge. Stretch your legs, feel the spray, and witness the river's raw power before it enters Murchison Falls National Park.
Evening: Arrive in Masindi town. Check into your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest for the long journey ahead to the far north.
Day 2: Masindi to Gulu & Kitgum – Gateway to the North
Morning: After an early breakfast, continue your journey north. The landscape transforms from lush green to open savanna and tropical forest.
Midday Stop – Aruu Falls: Arrive at the stunning Aruu Falls near Gulu. Take a refreshing break, hike to the falls, and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature.

Day 3: Explore Kidepo – Game Drives & Nature Walks
Early Morning – First Game Drive: Rise before dawn and enter the vast savanna of Kidepo. This is the prime time for wildlife viewing. Scan the plains for massive herds of buffalo, elegant zebras, and the iconic ostriches that race across the landscape. With luck, you might spot lions, cheetahs, or leopards on the hunt. The park's remote location means you'll often have sightings all to yourself.
Midday – Relaxation & Lunch: Return to your lodge for a well-deserved breakfast and some rest during the heat of the day. Enjoy the stunning views from your lodge.
Late Afternoon – Nature Walk: Experience the park on foot with an expert ranger guide. A guided nature walk offers a completely different perspective learning about tracking, identifying animal signs, discovering smaller creatures and plants, and feeling intimately connected to the wild landscape as the sun begins to lower.
Evening: Return to your lodge for dinner and stories around the campfire under Kidepo's incredibly starry sky.
Day 4: Second Game Drive & Scenic Departure
Early Morning – Second Game Drive: Head back into the park for one final wildlife safari. Explore a different area of the valley, searching for any animals you might have missed and enjoying the magical morning light on the dramatic mountains that frame the park.
Late Morning: Exit the park and begin your journey south, carrying unforgettable memories of Kidepo's raw beauty.
Afternoon: Travel through the scenic landscapes of Karamoja and towards the Mount Elgon region.
Evening: Arrive in the beautiful town of Mbale, nestled at the foot of Mount Elgon. Check into your hotel and enjoy a well-earned dinner.
Day 5: Sipi Falls & Journey Home
Morning: After breakfast, drive to the magnificent Sipi Falls. Enjoy a guided nature walk to view the three stunning waterfalls cascading down the slopes of Mount Elgon. The views across the plains below are breathtaking.
Optional Activities: For the adventurous, this is the perfect place to try abseiling (rappelling) down the cliffs alongside the falls.
